When it’s nice outside

by Fairley Lloyd

When it’s nice outside, the sun smiles at the earth.

It presses hot kisses to cheeks and arms, and the

warmth envelopes all like a big, cozy blanket.

When it’s nice outside, the grass stands tall.

Hairs sprout colors of vibrant greens, and

each strand sways in mindless blissfulness.

When it’s nice outside, the earth feels soft.

It tickles at the touch of feet against dirt,

and dresses itself in a spectrum of colors.

When it’s nice outside, the wind sings.

It hums back and forth with every bird,

and brushes lightly against human skin.

When it’s nice outside, flowers blush stems.

Wisterias dance gracefully against vines, and

white poppies float in the like as puffy clouds.

When it’s nice outside, everything feels great.

When it’s nice outside the whole earth is happy.
